Move, grow, power up!

Functional Training Camp for Teenagers (13–16 years)

Improve your strength, endurance and flexibility this summer with our exclusive functional training camp for teenagers.

For teenagers aged between 13 - 16. 

What to expect

  • 2 hours of intensive and varied training daily for 1 week

  • Small groups, maximum 8 students, to ensure individual support and optimal learning success.

 

The training offers you:

  • Core Stability, Strength & Explosive Power, Flexibility & Endurance

  • Functional training that helps you progress in your sport, increases your strength, and gets you fit – all in a cool group!

  • Fun, motivation and a supportive community like you know from ByBo

Workshops - Choose your focus

We want the camp to be as relevant to you as possible. That's why, in addition to the training, we're offering two exciting lectures/workshops. You can help choose the topics.

 

Before the start of the camp week, everyone will receive a short survey in which participants can choose from our suggestions or contribute their own ideas. The two most popular topics will then be addressed during the camp.

 

Our suggested topics:

  • Nutrition & Muscle Building

    • How the right diet supports your muscle building.

    • Important nutrients and meals for athletes.

  • Training & Nutrition

    • How training and nutrition work together to keep you fit and healthy.

    • Practical tips for everyday life.

  • Hyrox – The Fitness Hype (Introduction from 16 years)

    • What is Hyrox and why is it so popular?

    • The different disciplines and how to prepare for them.

    • Insights into a challenging and versatile fitness format
      (Note: Participation in Hyrox competitions is usually possible from the age of 16, but we can already get you excited about it!).

Program

Day 1

Basics & Core Stability
  • Get to know functional training.

  • Correct posture and activation of the core muscles.

  • Exercises with your own body weight (planks, bird dog, etc.).

Day 4

Endurance & fitness
  • Fit for every challenge.

  • Circuit training with various functional exercises.

  • Short, intense interval training sessions.

  • Games and team challenges to promote endurance.

Day 2

Strength & Power
  • Explosiveness for your sport.

  • Squat and lunge variations.

  • Introduction to plyometric exercises (jumps).

  • Use of resistance bands.

Day 5

Application
  •  Use your functional movement toolbox.
  •  Integration of the learned exercises into sport-specific movements.
  •  Creating a training plan for at home.
  •  Final challenge and feedback round.

Day 3

Agility & Mobility
  • Free movement, fewer injuries.

  • Dynamic stretching and mobility flows.

  • Improvement of joint mobility (hips, shoulders, thoracic spine).

  • Balance exercises.

  • Duration: 5 days, Monday to Friday, 2 hours daily, 1 - 3pm

  • Location: Basel, ByBo Studio and Outdoor

Trainers

  • Nikos is an occupational therapist, brings extensive experience working with children and teenagers, and has carefully shaped the program together with Beata.
    Nikos speaks English, Greek and a little German.

  • Beata, founder of ByBo, is offering the program for the first time out of her passion to infect anyone with sports and help them grow.
    Beata speaks German, English and Polish.
